Communications Specialist
The Communications Specialist position is an opportunity for a detail-oriented communications specialist to join a growing agency. This individual will support the implementation of communication and social media strategies for a variety of clients, including government, nonprofit and corporations.
Responsibilities Include
- Participate in planning, research, writing, and strategy development for communications projects
- Coordinate with various departments and people to develop creative and digital assets
- Draft correspondence, meeting notes, internal and client reports, and other types of materials
- Contribute to project plans and track project activities, timelines and quality reviews
- Create and maintain production schedules and editorial calendars
- Write and edit content for various digital communications channels
- Support social and traditional media outreach, including strategy, content development, and analytics
- Lead and collaborate with other team members to address client challenges
Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills
- Adaptable and curious
- Familiarity with communications techniques and technologies
- Ability to complete multiple projects and workstreams, and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated attention to detail and editing skills
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or related field
- Two to four years of experience in communications or marketing
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Familiarity with social media monitoring and tracking, including experience using monitoring software
- Experience using project management software and tools
- Prior communications agency or firm experience
