Senior Digital Strategist/Project Director

Urban Emu seeks a talented Washington, DC-based Project Director with a background in Digital Strategy to join our growing team. You will collaborate with our innovative creative and strategy teams to lead the integrated development of powerful, brand-aligned content and bring campaign visions to life.

You must have a strong background in providing integrated marketing solutions and strategic project management across various platforms, including web, mobile, print and social. You should have experience leading teams and individuals, writing and developing digital strategies based on campaign goals, managing various workstreams, and leading client-facing communications. You must have experience working in an agency and, ideally, working with federal government clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive leadership for accounts, staff and clients and hold responsibility for overall account relationships
• Understand, write and apply customer journeys along paid and owned channels while driving their actions to meet campaign goals
• Develop and manage projects and programs, including integrated communications strategies and evaluation plans, and implementation
• Create staffing plans, timelines and budgets, proactively identifying risks and opportunities
• Provide recommendations for earned, owned and paid media strategies rooted in an understanding of audiences, best practices and budgets
• Nurture and grow key client relationships, becoming a trusted advisor and leading client relationship management
• Recommend appropriate integrated communications strategies based on priorities and budget, including earned, paid, and owned strategies
• Oversee execution of integrated communications strategies, providing direction on strategy, reviewing documentation, and ensuring deliverables meet client expectations
• Facilitate the development of efficient systems for measuring program performance, documenting internal and external processes
• Maintain oversight of all project deliverables, including status reports, materials trackers, and analytics
• Supervise and/or mentor early and mid-career staff members
• Stay abreast of industry trends and distill those into actionable recommendations for clients and internal teams
• Provide technical guidance to the project
• Represent the project at outside meetings, conferences and other client-endorsed events.
• Support new business efforts, coordinate with the senior leaders and participate in the new business process and writing
• Act with a high degree of independence and know when and how to leverage the expertise of others

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field
• Experience working on integrated communications contracts and campaigns
• Exceptional project management, writing and communications skills
• Agency experience in social marketing and federal contracts
• Located in the DMV and willing to work a hybrid schedule
• Experience implementing paid media campaigns
• At least 8 years leading digital strategy for marketing websites, SEO, social media, or integrated campaigns
• Ability to work effectively with a variety of internal teams and business groups, including Strategy, Creative, and Technical teams
• Strong interest in technology or digital marketing or digital storytelling
• Experience with digital toolsets for website analytics, social media channel listening, SEO, and digital measurement models
