Inspiring Global Action & Policy Change for Childhood Nutrition

The first 1,000 days between birth and a child’s second birthday are critical for their future health and wellness. Yet, all over the world, children fail to reach their development potential–whether from malnourishment or a lack of access to crucial healthcare services. 1,000 Days works tirelessly to make child nutrition and health access policy priorities in the U.S. and abroad. Urban Emu partnered with 1,000 Days to reimagine their website with powerful visual storytelling to inspire action and investment among stakeholders.

Fighting For Kids Who Are Fighting Hunger

We started with discovery sessions and user journey mapping to understand what resources mattered most to policy leaders, healthcare workers, non-profits, and other stakeholders. We developed a new site architecture to improve the user experience and site navigation. We made it possible to filter for desired content and allowed users to “favorite” the content that matters most to them. Throughout the site, Urban Emu leveraged 1,000 Day’s extensive photo library. On the site’s backend, we implemented a new install of WordPress and configured it to create an author-friendly experience to make updates easier for 1,000 Days.

Results
